It is KNOT FUNNY

Some of you may have seen this bit of poetry before. If so, I hope you enjoy it this time!

I have this thing against words

That sound alike but are not

Like tying your shoes with strings

And then you finish with a knot

Now you may think it is nothing

But if one thing I don't adore

Is when you're heading for the exit

That is closed by, what else, a door

The more I talk about this problem

The more perplexed I get you know

You can yes all day but it doesn't change

That one time you will have to say NO

So, I sit down for my cup of Joe

Smells so good when it’s been brewed

But I get to thinking about all these words

So much that I start to brood

I set my pen down and now its lost

Judy exclaims, "Its over here"

But alas to me it is still lost

Because her tone I cannot hear

Was camping one year in the woods

Jumped in the water, I was bare

Thought I got caught by a stranger

When he suddenly hollered "Bear!"

Let's stay out in those lovely woods

With the trees and all their leaves

Then a stranger found all my clothes

Grabbed them and then up he leaves

And while I'm there, her comes the bear

I am hoping that he just ate

So he'll pass by and I can run to camp

Its nearly half past eight

The bear just left and I run back

I am glad we didn't meet

And after dressing, Judy and I

Ate a meal with salad and meat

I tell her about that monster bear

So big it made me pause

I ran so fast from that ghastly beast

It had huge teeth and real big paws

I was running so fast away

the campsite I nearly passed

I'm glad I made it back alive

That adventure is in the past

One final word about these words

Whether in the past, future or present

Don't ever get me a book on homophones

As a lovely Christmas present
